Following the massive success of Thaai Kizhavi, the team, on Tuesday, organising a grand event to celebrate the film's 100-day theatrical run. Speaking at the occasion, director Sivakumar Murugesan delivered an emotional and heartfelt speech, expressing his gratitude to Sivakarthikeyan for trusting him with the film and giving him the opportunity to direct Thaai Kizhavi.
Sivakumar said, "I don't read a lot of classics or a world cinema enthusiast. I only follow two simple rules in my life. We need to be truthful to the food we eat and the work we do, and thankful to those who give us these two. Sivakarthikeyan sir gave me these two. In any scenario, I will never disagree with him."
Besides Sivakumar and Sivakarthikeyan, the cast members Bala Saravanan, Muthukumar, Radikaa, and producer Sudhan Sundharam and Kalai Arasu, among many others were present at the occasion to speak about the success of the movie. Following the event, Sivakarthikeyan gifted Sivakumar a Mahindra BE6 car for the success of the movie.
Released on February 27, the film sees Radikaa playing Pavunthayi, a fiercely independent and intimidating elderly moneylending woman in a village. When she falls ill mysteriously, her estranged sons struggle to save her in order to learn about the secret treasure she had stashed at her house. During the course of their mission, the family realises her true qualities and value.
Thaai Kizhavi also features Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, George Maryan, Muthukumar, and Raichal Rabecca, among others, in its cast.
For the unversed, the actor and director are reuniting once again for the upcoming rural drama Seyon, which is currently in production and has completed the first schedule.
