Actor Priyamani has made her first collaboration with superstar-turned-CM Vijay with Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth. The film has long been delayed following issues with its censorship. However, recent reports from sources close to the production suggests that it has already been cleared by the Censor Board and is gearing up for its release.

Priyamani recently spoke to a reporter about the upcoming film. Speaking to Singlelenzz at the GDN trailer launch event on Saturday, the actor said that the film will most likely release later this July. "I do not know the release date, but it will be announced soon through official sources," she said.

Priyamani also shared her thoughts about Chief Minister Vijay. "I am very happy," she said when asked about her thoughts on Vijay becoming CM.

"Everyone is saying that sir was born for this role. I think he is doing a good role, and everyone feels that it should continue this way. I also want to wish him all the best because he was born to do this, and he is a born leader."

Coming back to Jana Nayagan, the film's cast also includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Narain, Prakash Raj, Mamitha Baiju, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, among others. It is produced by Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions along with Lohith NK and Jagadish Palanisamy.

The film's technical team includes composer Anirudh, cinematographer Sathyan Sooriyan, editor Pradeep E Ragav, stunt choreographer Anl Arasu, and art director Selvakumar.

Billed as Vijay's grand swansong before his retirement from cinema for a career in politics, Jana Nayagan was initially slated for a Pongal 2026 release. However, issues with its censorship process contributed to a delay in its release. Meanwhile, the film was even leaked online, leading to multiple arrests.
