Recently, Legend Saravanan paid his final respects to legendary filmmaker K Bhagyaraj. The owner of Saravana Stores, who also works as an actor in the Tamil film industry, has visited the residence of the late filmmaker in Chennai, paid homage to him and shared his condolences to his family. In a video on social media, the businessman-actor can be seen placing a garland on Bhagyaraj's photograph. He also shared an emotional note in tribute to the filmmaker on social media, where he expressed his solidarity with the grieving family.
"The passing of Mr Bhagyaraj, one of India's finest screenwriters and someone who had great affection and fondness for me, is deeply painful. I extend my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to his grieving family. His loss is an irreparable one for the Tamil film industry," the businessman-turned-actor wrote.
It is worth noting Bhagyaraj supported Legend Saravanan's decision to foray into cinema. Instead of criticising his unconventional shift into acting, the filmmaker publicly rallied behind him. Recently, he attended the audio launch event of Saravanan's film, Leader, directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar. At the event, he commended Saravanan's passion and willingness to invest heavily in producing and starring in massive commercial projects. Bhagyaraj said that the businessman's decision to get into cinema further reinforced his life vision to make the public happy and served as a sign of his boldness, notwithstanding what others might say about his acting foray.
"He came into acting post the age of 50 years, but he maintains the fitness of someone who is half the age," the filmmaker shared at the Leader audio launch.
What made the filmmaker's gesture particularly notable is the fact that Saravanan's debut film, The Legend, earned much flak for its storyline and performances, even raising questions about his acting credentials. Subsequently, Leader earned a better reception from the audience.
