Jiiva headlined Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil to be remade in Hindi: Reports

The comedy drama, directed by Nithish Sahadev, and starring Jiiva in the lead, was released on January 15

Jiiva's latest release, Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil, was released on January 15, coinciding with the Pongal festival. Since its release it has been receiving positive acclaimation from critics and audiences.

Now reports suggest that producer Kannan Ravi, who has produced Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil under his KRG Groups banner, has announced that the film would be remade in Hindi. After 10 days in theatres, the film has collected more than Rs 22 crores at the Indian box office.

The film follows the president of a village's Panchayat board, who tries to calm down a hornet's nest that is rattled after two neighbours are adamant in disrupting each other's peace, by wanting to conduct a wedding and a funeral on the same time.

Nithish Sahadev, who made his directorial debut with Falimy (2023), which starred Basil Joseph in the lead. Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil is his sophomore directorial and his first Tamil film.
