Earlier today, director Vignesh Karthick appeared in an Instagram video to express his gratitude to the audience for their positive feedback for his latest film Hot Spot 2 Much. Vignesh said that he is receiving much positive word of mouth for the film at a time when Ajith Kumar-Venkat Prabhu's Mankatha has been running successfully in theatres after its recent rerelease. "Thanks a lot to everyone who turned the Hot Spot sequel into a successful film at a time when Mankatha is running superbly," the filmmaker said. Vignesh also revealed that the film is more commercial than the 2024 original, Hot Spot. "Everyone is celebrating the film in theatres and saying that the humour in it has worked out well. I am delighted to hear that," the Hot Spot 2 Much director shared.

Calling the first part a film with good reviews, he said, "I made Hot Spot 2 with the intention to entertain the audience in theatres, even if it has some messages to them. The fun element was the main priority and it has worked."

Vignesh Karthick also thanked Kalaipuli S Thanu for the postponement in the rerelease of his 2016 film Theri, starring Vijay and directed by Atlee. "If Theri also released at this time, we would not have had theatres for Hot Spot 2 Much. We should thank Thanu sir for that," the filmmaker said.
