After multiple postponements, Anupama Parameswaran's Lockdown has locked a new release date in theatres. Helmed by first-time filmmaker AR Jeeva, the thriller will now hit theatres on January 30.

It may be recalled that the film's release had been postponed at least twice before. The release of the film, which was originally scheduled to happen on December 5 last year, was postponed the first time due to incessant rains caused by cyclone Ditwah. When it was scheduled to release for December 12, it was pushed once again citing "unforeseen circumstances."

The trailer, which was released last month, revealed the actor battling her own demons and unprecedented circumstances during the peak of the coronavirus lockdown in the state. The film promises to deliver a gripping story of how Anupama's character finds a way of out of her miseries amidst a global crisis.

Lockdown also stars Charlie, Nirosha, Priya Venkat, Livingston, Indhumathi, Rajkumar, Shamji, Lollu Saba Maran, Vinayak Raj, Vidhu, Abhirami, Ravathi, Sanjivie, Priya Ganesh and Asha.

The film was premiered at the recent 56th International Film Festival of India, which was held in Goa. On the technical team, Lockdown has music by NR Raghunanthan and Siddharth Vipin, cinematography by KA Sakthivel, editing by VJ Sabu Joseph, and art direction by A Jayakumar.
