In a first in many years, actors Nayanthara and Trisha have publicly shared pictures from their latest holiday in Dubai. The top stars, who have enjoyed over two decades-long careers in the South Indian film industry, were seen sitting on what appeared to be a yacht, soaking in the sunset together. Twinning in black outfits, the duo captured their playful moments on camera. Although they have worked together in several Tamil films, they have rarely made public appearances together. While it was speculated that they might have had a tiff in the past, their latest photos have put all rumours to rest.

Needless to say, the pictures went viral on social media, garnering millions of likes and views. The internet also had a field day reminiscing memories associated with the two stars, stating that it was an "unexpected collaboration." Some also requested them to star in a film together in the near future while the others noted that they had two check many times to confirm if it was an AI-generated image.

Earlier on Monday, former actor Asin's photos had resurfaced on social media after her husband Rahul Sharma shared them on social media for their tenth wedding anniversary. "Back to the 2000s," one user termed the moment, pointing to the top actors' posts.

On the work front, Nayanthara was recently seen in Chiranjeevi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, which was released on the occasion of Pongal/Sankranti. In Tamil, her last project was Test, which released directly on Netflix. Up next, she has a long list of films in various languages in her kitty including Dear Students, NBK 111, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, Mannangatti Since 1960, Patriot, Mookuthi Amman 2, Hi and Rakkayie.

Trisha, on the other hand, was seen playing the female lead in Thug Life, Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam's film, which released last year. She is also awaiting the release of Suriya's Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. Trisha will also be starring alongside Chiranjeevi in his much-anticipated Vishwambhara, directed by Mallidi Vassishta.
