The first promo for Pookie, headlined by Vijay Antony's nephew Ajay Dhishan, was unveiled on Monday. Ajay, who previously starred in Vijay Antony's Maargan, plays a man who struggles to confess his intention to separate from his partner, played by RK Dhanusha, in the promo. When he finally musters up the courage to tell her, she surprises him by saying everything he had in mind. However, he realises then that he doesn't want to let go of her so easily. And so the two reconcile, while still contemplating a breakup in their minds. The promo hints at an interesting young-age rom-com.

The upcoming film is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual which is helmed by Ganesh Chandra. Pookie marks the 18th production venture of actor and music composer Vijay Antony's home banner, Vijay Antony Film Corporation. Vijay Antony's wife, Fatima Vijay Antony, is the producer of the upcoming flick.

The makers previously released two singles from the film, namely, 'Manasu Valikudhu' and 'Love Advice Song', both of which have been sung, written and performed by Vijay Antony.

Pookie also features an extended ensemble cast. Pandiarajan, Sunil, Lakshmi Manchu, Indumathi Manigandan, Aaditya Kathir, Vivek Prasanna, Black Pandi, Bigg Boss Sathya, MJ Shriram, Radha, Ashwin Ram, Shiyara Sharmi, and Priyanka play pivotal supporting characters. Manda Fack, Rajamani Paati, Varun, Arun, Mridhula, Aishwarya Ragupathi, Anjali, Thanga Prakash, Mridhula, Sathya, and Shaju round out the extended cast.

On the technical front, director Ganesh Chandra also cranks the camera for Pookie, which will feature editing and music composed by Vijay Antony. Puthiya Parithi has been credited for the story, screenplay and dialogues. The film is gearing up to open in theatres on February 13, ahead of Valentine's Day.
