After receiving highly polarised reviews by critics and audiences, actor Sivakarthikeyan's recent film Parasakthi is having a slow run at the box office in India, with a total of Rs 47.93 crore, and it is inching towards the 50-crore mark in a snail-paced manner despite having a nine-day run.

According to the box office database website Sacnilk, the film had a 39.33% occupancy in Chennai. The film earned Rs 22.6 crores (Rs 12.5 crore and Rs 10.1 crore on the first and second days, respectively) during the opening weekend. On the ninth day, the film has grossed Rs 1.83 crore.

Parasakthi is set in the 1960s, and the screenplay revolves around the 1965 anti-Hindi agitations. The compulsory Hindi proficiency to land jobs also impacts Chezhian (Sivakarthikeyan) personally. The film is produced by Aakash Baskaran's Dawn Pictures. Sivakarthikeyan stars alongside Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela for the first time, with the latter making her Tamil debut.

Parasakthi marks the first collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and Sudha Kongara. The film's composer is GV Prakash, a regular collaborator of the director. The technical crew also includes cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, editor Sathish Suriya, and action choreographer Supreme Sundar.
