Earlier, we reported about actor Sivakarthikeyan attending an event celebrating Pongal and Tamil culture in Delhi alongside his Parasakthi co-star Ravi Mohan and their film's composer GV Prakash. The event took place at the residence of the Union Minister of State for Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, L Murugan, and it also featured Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a special guest. Speaking to India Today at the event, Sivakarthikeyan said that it was his "pleasure and honour to meet the Prime Minister" as an Indian citizen. "First time I am celebrating Pongal outside Chennai and meeting our Prime Minister also. I was very excited and wish everyone a Happy Pongal," the actor said. He also spoke about the delayed release of director H Vinoth's Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, which has been caught in the crosshairs of censorship.

According to the actor, Jana Nayagan will release soon in theatres and will "definitely be a hit". The actor also spoke about the audience's response to his film Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara. "It always feels great when a movie does really well. This film carries a very deep message, and it is not only about one language; it is about all the languages and it also speaks about the unity of the country," the actor said.

Interestingly, the actor addressed the agitation that has allegedly been shown by some Vijay fans against team Parasakthi as well. "We do not have to worry about a few fans talking about (it) and do not have to generalise it also. There will be a few fans, but it is not a problem. We are always like brothers, and it will remain the same," the actor said. The actor's comments come shortly after Parasakthi director Sudha Kongara suggested that she is experiencing "slander and defamation of the worst kind" from Vijay fans.
