Maaman's director to make his acting debut: Reports

Prasanth Pandiyaraj previously directed Bruce Lee (2017) and Maaman (2025), and worked on Vilangu

Prasanth Pandiyaraj, whose latest directorial venture was the Soori-starrer Maaman (2025), is reportedly making his acting debut with a web series. The upcoming series is reportedly set in the world of Vilangu, which Prasanth directed previously.

Vilangu was released in 2022, in Zee 5, and consisted of seven episodes. Vemal made his streaming debut with Vilangu, as the lead character, Ilamparithi, who is a police officer investigating a robbery. The upcoming series will reportedly be directed by Vignesh.

The cast of the series also consisted of Bala Saravanan, Ineya, RNR Manohar, Munishkanth, among others.

Prasanth Pandiyaraj made his debut in 2017 with Bruce Lee. The film starred GV Prakash Kumar and Kriti Kharbanda, while Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Rajendran, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Anandaraj.

His latest release Maaman starred Soori in the lead, with the actor also writing the story. The film followed the relationship shared by a man and his nephew.
