Sudha Kongara on Parasakthi vs Jana Nayagan: 'Both films should succeed'

Sudha also said that her film would speak for itself

Ever since the makers of Parasakthi moved the release of their film ahead by four days, much of the discourse in Tamil cinema has been about the imminent box office battle between it and Vijay's final film Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth. However, the key personnel involved in both films have been trying to play down the Parasakthi vs Jana Nayagan clash in their pre-release promotions in one way or the other. After Sivakarthikeyan and producer Aakash Baskaran, Sudha Kongara has become the latest to try and reduce all the noise around the release of both films at the same time. At the Parasakthi audio launch, the filmmaker said that both films should perform well at the box office to help the film business survive in the longer run.

Sudha also said that her film would speak for itself. Interestingly, the same approach of reducing the intensity of the box office battle through promotional events does not reflect in the placement of promotional materials by Parasakthi's makers. After KVN Productions announced that they would release the Jana Nayagan audio launch event on January 04, Sunday, the producer of the Sivakarthikeyan starrer, Aakash's Dawn Pictures, also scheduled its audio launch to release shortly before the former.

Many Vijay fans have been expressing their disappointment at the film's makers' decision to have a direct box office battle with the superstar's final film in this manner.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan himself revealed that he contacted Vijay's manager and asked whether it is OK if his film released at the same time as Jana Nayagan. Vijay eventually agreed on the simultaneous release and wished luck for Parasakthi as well.
