Radikaa Sarathkumar's latest film Thaai Kizhavi has been receiving rave reviews since its release in theatres on Friday and box office reports for the comedy drama have been promising as it amassed over Rs 2.5 crore on its opening day across India. With the weekend already here, the box office numbers for Sivakumar Murugesan's debut film is expected to increase with positive word-of-mouth reviews, especially in Tamil Nadu.

The film follows Radikaa who plays Pavunuthaayi in the film, a recently bereaved wife who is called upon her sons to settle a property dispute following their father's death. But she is determined and vows to use all her wealth until her death. Not long after, she is bedridden and her undecipherable gestures leave her sons, family and the whole village in a frenzy as they gather to solve the mystery of her hidden properties and wealth.

Following its premiere show which was attended by top Tamil celebrities, many took to their social media handles to shower praise on the film, Radikaa's performance and Sivakumar's storytelling.

An excerpt from our CE review of the film reads, "While Radikaa appears for just over 30-40 minutes of this 140-minute film, her presence looms over every single moment. But when she goes missing in action, Sivakumar not just uses the characters and their machinations to a ‘T’, he showcases an immense grasp of creating moments and hitting us with one comic punch after another. In this endeavour, he is not only aided by his excellent cast but also by his choice of songs, courtesy of Kamal Haasan’s films."

In addition to Radikaa, Thaai Kizhavi also stars Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Munishkanth, Bala Saravanan, Ilavarasu, Muthukumar, George Maryan, and Raichal Rabecca. The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram's Passion Studios and presented by Sivakarthikeyan's SK Productions.

On the technical front, the film features music by Nivas K Prasanna, cinematography by Vivek Vijayakumar, and editing by San Lokesh.
