Actor Dhanush, who is awaiting the release of Vignesh Raja's Kara, shared his heartfelt memories from his school and college days during a recent event held by Vels University where he served as the chief guest.
Recalling his first association with the college, the actor revealed that he shot his first film Thulluvadho Ilamai there. "My journey started from this place. But after that, I never really came back to the college. So, after so many years, it feels wonderful to meet all of you here again," he shared.
When probed about his 25-year-long journey in cinema, he said, "The most important thing we must follow is to realise what a huge blessing we have received. Once we truly understand that, we will work day and night to protect and sustain it." He further noted how 25 years feels short for him. "I feel like I have only just begun. From here on, it’s my second innings," he remarked, without specifying any details.
When producer Ishari K Ganesh, who was also present at the occasion, mentioned that his dream project is Vada Chennai 2, Dhanush responded, "Yes, he is producing Vada Chennai 2. You’ve all been asking about it continuously. We will be starting very soon. At least from now on, let’s avoid bringing up the topic on public stages." It was at the same stage that the well-known producer announced that Kara would hit screens on April 30.
Among the other notable celebrities who attended the event were director C Prem Kumar, Abishan Jeevinth, actor Ken Karunaas, popular YouTubers VJ Siddhu and Harshath Khan, and music composer Sai Abhyankkar.
Dhanush, who was last seen in Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Aanand L. Rai, is currently busy with a promising line-up of projects including Rajkumar Periasamy's D55 and Mari Selvaraj's D56, besides Kara.
Ishari K Ganesh is also backing Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja of Por Thozhil fame in his sophomore directorial which is slated for an April 30 release in theatres. He is also producing D56, a fantasy-historical film, which has AR Rahman on board as music composer.
D55 is being directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. It stars an ensemble cast consisting of Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela, and will have music by Sai Abhyankkar.
