JioHotstar has announced that the Vijay Sethupathi-headliner, Muthu Engira Kaattaan, will premiere on March 27. The streamer also unveiled a teaser for the film.

Previously titled Kaattaan, the series reunites Vijay Sethupathi and director M Manikandan, who has also created the series, after Aandavan Kattalai (2016) and Kadaisi Vivasayi (2022). The teaser hints at the plot centering on the story of a man, who prompts people who discover his severed head, to find the rest of his body. Editor B Ajithkumar also serves as a director on the series.

The cast of Muthu Engira Kaattaan, includes Milind Soman, Sudev Nair, Vadivel Murugan, Risha Jacobs, VJ Paaru, Kalaivani Bhaskar, and Muthukumar.

The crew of the film includes Madhu Neelakandan as the director of photography, Jacki and Sabu Mohan as the art directors. Vijay Sethupathi is also backing the series under his namesake banner.

Manikandan won the National Award for Best Feature Film, for Kadaisi Vivasayi (2021).

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi is reuniting with Thyagarajan Kumararaja after Super Deluxe (2019), for Pocket Novel, which went on floors recently. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Kishore, and Raj B Shetty in his Tamil debut.
