Ajith Kumar-AL Vijay project is a feature-length film: Buzz

The latest speculation about the project suggests that the film will have raw footage of Ajith Kumar racing

In December 2025, we reported about director AL Vijay making a documentary based on Ajith Kumar's racing endeavours. According to the latest buzz on social media, the project is not a documentary but rather a feature-length film. Reportedly, the makers are thinking of releasing it theatrically, on May 01, coinciding with Ajith's birthday and International Labour Day.

The latest speculation about the project suggests that the film will have raw footage of Ajith Kumar racing taken from the actor's real-life motorsports events, and it will be treated like a commercial racing film. Reports say that the makers initially planned it as a documentary but has since been turning it into a feature film. It is going to be interesting to see how it will take the shape of a feature-length film.

Recently, an IANS source revealed that the film is one and a half hours long. If the reports are true, it will be the shortest film featuring Ajith Kumar to hit theatres. As of now, Billa is regarded as the Ajith starrer to have the shortest runtime.

According to reports, the makers want to inspire youngsters and lure them into the world of motorsports with the film, a bit like how the Kapil Dev-led India's 1983 World Cup win drew millions in the country into cricket.

The project is set to bring Ajith and Vijay back together after their collaboration on 2007's Kireedam, a remake of the 1989 Malayalam film of the same name that starred Mohanlal. While the two have not worked together since, Vijay went on to direct several other films, most notably Madrasapattinam, Deiva Thirumagal, and Thalaivaa. Interestingly, his next directorials also include Kadhal Reset Repeat.
