Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu has once again proved that he can laugh at himself, thanks to a cheeky exchange on X that has now gone viral.

A social media user recently revisited scenes from Saroja and pointed out a continuity slip. The user wrote in Tamil that while the entire film unfolds over the course of a single night, a clock visible in one scene oddly shows 12 noon. “I was just watching Sarojascenes and noticed this then. The entire story of the film happens at night, yet the clock shown on screen says it is 12 noon,” the post read.

Rather than brushing it aside, Venkat Prabhu acknowledged the goof-up with humour. He replied with a GIF of veteran comedian Senthil flashing an embarrassed grin. The original poster kept the banter going by sharing a GIF of Goundamani giving Senthil a mock-scolding look.

The light-hearted back-and-forth left netizens amused, prompting a flurry of witty responses. One user quipped, “Oscar poche thala,” teasing that the filmmaker had missed out on an Academy Award over the slip.

Released in 2008, Saroja was a comedy thriller produced by Amma Creations Siva and became a major commercial success. The film featured an ensemble cast including Shiva, Vaibhav, Premji, S P Charan, Sampath, Nikitha Thukral and Bose Venkat. Its chartbuster soundtrack was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with cinematography handled by Sakthi Saravanan.

Venkat Prabhu, who last helmed Vijay's GOAT, is all set to work with Sivakarthikeyan for his next. Ramya Nambessan is also a part of the film's cast, with Kalyani Priyadarshan's casting speculated but unconfirmed.
