Actor Vikram's team has refuted rumours of the actor's upcoming film, tentatively titled Chiyaan 63, being dropped. Rumours arose of the film being shelved, after online chatter increased regarding the same.
In October 2025, Shanti Talkies, the banner behind Vikram's next announced that debutant Bodi Rajkumar will direct Chiyaan 63. He has previously directed short films like Amen and Lo and Behold. The former won the Best Short Film award at the Independent Film Festival of Chennai 2021 and the Best Indie Short award at the Venice Shorts festival in 2021.
Earlier, Madonne Ashwin, who is known for Mandela (2020) and Maaveeran (2023), was announced to be the director of Chiyaan 63.
Recently, Vikram took to Instagram to announce that he is working on four new projects, including the upcoming Chiyaan 63. He is expected to reunite with SU Arunkumar for the sequel to Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2. Vikram is also rumoured to join hands with Premkumar, the director of '96 (2018) and Meiyazhagan (2024).
