Meesaya Murukku 2 title teaser out; Chaithra J Achar, Ketika Sharma join the sequel

Meesaya Murukku 2, is a sequel to the 2017 film, which is directed by Hiphop Tamizha, and is set to release in mid-2026

The title teaser for Hiphop Tamizha's Meesaya Murukku 2 has been unveiled. The makers revealed that the film will release in mid-2026.

Along with the release of the teaser, the makers also announced that the cast of the film is expanding with Chaithra J Achar, Ketika Sharma, and Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam fame Ramya Ranganathan, Nassar, Aadukalam Naren, Sha Ra and Karunaas, joining the film. Harshath Khan was earlier announced to be part of the cast.

The teaser hinted at the story spanning two storylines, one in 1980 and one in current day, with Hiphop Tamizha Adhi playing a role in each storyline. The older storyline is also hinted to be about a musician who wants to break the prejudice enforced by conventional Indian musicians.

While Hiphop Tamizha is writing and directing the film, along with writing lyrics and composing music for the film, Khushbu Sundar is producing the film under Avni Movies banner, and ACS Arun Kumar under the Benzz Media Pvt Ltd banner.

The crew of the film includes Balaji Subramanyam as the director of photography, Fenny Oliver as the editor, VS Dinesh Kumar as the art director, Action Sandhosh as the stunt choreographer.

The 2017 film, was a semi-autobiographical comedy drama, which chronicled the story of Adhi in his early days at an engineering college and his journey to being an independent musician.
