The first look at Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth's upcoming on-screen reunion, tentatively titled KHxRK, will be screened in select theatres in Chennai. The pair are starring together in a film after Ninaithale Inikkum (1981).

The upcoming film is backed by Inban Udhayanidhi under the Red Giant Movies banner, in their 17th production venture. The makers announced that on 12:07 pm on February 21, the promotional video will aired in select theatres in Chennai.

Apart from the upcoming films the film, Kamal Haasan is backing Rajinikanth's 173rd film, under the Raaj Kamal Films International banner. Tentatively titled Thalaivar 173, the film will be directed by Cibi Chakravarthy and features music by Anirudh. Thalaivar 173 will reunite director Cibi and Anirudh after the 2023 film Don.

While Ninaithale Inikkum (1979), was the last time the pair starred together, the last time both the actor were seen together were in Thillu Mullu (1981).
