The thanksgiving meet for Raju Murugan's latest directorial, My Lord, starring Sasikumar and Chaithra Achar in lead roles, took place in Chennai on Wednesday. Speaking at the event, the director opened up about how film promotions have become a part of making and releasing a film to the public.

He started by expressing gratitude to the audience. "Thank you for truly understanding this film and for continuously sharing with us the impact it has had on you," he said.

Speaking about the process involved in making a film today, Raju said, "From the time I entered cinema until today, this world has changed tremendously. A writer’s work begins at the stage of writing a film. During shooting, it becomes the director’s responsibility. After that comes release and post-production. But today, even after a film is released, right up to promotions, there are so many aspects we ourselves must oversee."

Raju then agreed that he was initially not for promoting a film but has changed with time. "Just as much effort goes into writing and making a film; an equal amount of effort must now be invested in taking that film to the people. Since I was originally a journalist, I never used to show much interest in promotions or interviews. But now, it has become a major challenge."

The Joker filmmaker then concluded by thanking the media for taking the film to the audience. "The situation today demands that we work on promotions with the same intensity and wholehearted commitment that we dedicate to making the film. Beyond debating whether this change is good or bad, we must understand that the world keeps evolving, and we too must evolve accordingly. No matter what we speak about in a film, taking that film to the audience is an enormous task. At that crucial stage, it is the media who stand by us in support," he added.

The cast of the film also includes Asha Sharath, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, Gopi Nainar, and Vasumithra. The technical crew of My Lord includes Sean Roldan as the music composer, Nirav Shah as the director of photography, Sathyaraj Natarajan as the editor, and Muni Paulraj as the art director. Jayanthi Ambethkumar has produced the film under the Olympia Films banner.
