Bollywood actor Aparshakti Khurana is all set to make his debut in Tamil cinema with the upcoming film Root - Running Out of Time, starring Gautham Ram Karthik in the lead role. The Stree actor who plays a key role in the sci-fi crime thriller, shared that it was not easy to act in a language one does not think in.

Root is penned and helmed by debutant Sooriyaprathap S, who has previously worked as an associate director on Rajinikanth's Kochadaiiyaan. Aparshakti said he saw the rushes of a web series made by the director before saying yes to the project. Reflecting on the difficulties he faced while working in a Tamil film, the Dangal actor stated, "It's difficult to enact in a language that you are not thinking in." He further revealed that he used to think in English, translate it, and then deliver the performance.

"It changes your impromptu behaviour and certain reflexes. Having said that, before hitting the floor, we did enough workshops to understand the language we are entering," Aparshakti explained.

Describing working on Root as a "fine experience of filmmaking," Aparshakti said he is ecstatic to work with a talented cast and crew. "Before Root, there were a couple of Tamil scripts that came my way. However, the talks did not progress further. It's beautiful to be working with this amazing and talented cast and crew. We've made a film that all of us are very proud of. It's extremely different from what I've done so far. Now, I'm already reading another Tamil script," he added, excitedly.

The film also stars Bhavya Trikha as the female lead, veteran actor Y Gee Mahendran, Pavni Reddy, Linga, and RJ Anandhi, among others. The film’s technical team comprises cinematography by Arjun Raja, editing by John Abraham, music by Vithushanan, production design by Bhavna Govardan, and action choreography by Miracle Michael.

Dhanishtan Fernando, Rajarajan Gananasambandam, Sanjai Shankar, and Shaik Mujeeb are producing the upcoming film under the Verus Productions banner. While the lead actors have wrapped dubbing for their portions, plot details, along with a release date are yet to be announced by the makers.
