Debut director Madhan's With Love, a romance drama starring Abishan Jeevinth and Anaswara Rajan in the lead roles, continues its good start at the box office. On Monday, the first Monday after its release, the film minted an approximate gross collection of 1.04 crore from theatres in India, according to data from the industry tracker Sacnilk. This has taken its domestic collection to around 8.5 crore. Earlier, we reported that the film grossed over 10 crore from theatres worldwide over the first three days of its release.

The plot follows two youngsters who meet on a blind date, only to realise that they went to the same educational institution many years before. The two bond over past crushes and shared college time memories and form a close connection.

The film has opened to mostly positive reviews from critics. In our review, Avinash Ramachandran has written, "From films like to '96, which sounds too mathematical for my comfort, Tamil cinema has seen its fair share of school-time romances. While it might have similar beats to these films, and even a Premam or Thattathin Marayathu from Nivin Pauly’s golden era, With Love manages to be its own beast simply because it does a careful balancing act."

The film brings Abishan back together with Madhan, who served as his assistant director on last year's hit film Tourist Family, starring M Sasikumar and Simran, among others. It marks the Tourist Family director's acting debut. Speaking of which, the latest love story continues Abishan's successful streak with films that do not feature the biggest of stars in Tamil cinema.
