With the release slated for February 13, the makers of the upcoming romantic film Pookie dropped a sneak peek on Tuesday.
The glimpse shows both the leads telling why they are pessimistic about love. While the female lead shares examples of her relatives, the male lead tells every story of his friends and how examples of others are making him hesitant to fall in love.
The romantic comedy marks actor Ajay Dhishan's acting debut as the lead. He has previously starred in a supporting role in Vijay Antony's Maargan (2025), directed by editor Leo John Paul in his directorial debut.
Helmed by debutant MC Ganesh Chandra, the makers of the film, in interaction with CE, had revealed that the film will be about how to handle breakups. With RK Dhanusha playing the female lead, the film's supporting cast includes Pandiarajan, Sunil, Lakshmi Manchu, Indumathi Manigandan, Aaditya Kathir, Vivek Prasanna, Black Pandi, Bigg Boss Sathya, MJ Shriram, Radha, Ashwin Ram, Shiyara Sharmi, and Priyanka.
With 10 songs in the film, Vijay Antony had earlier announced that he will take up music composing for films not featuring him like before, owing to the response his songs are garnering in concerts, starting with Pookie. He, meanwhile, will next be seen in Joshua Sethuraman’s sophomore film, Lawyer. Pookie's technical team has Vijay Antony as the editor and Ganesh as DOP.
