"Not every butterfly brings freedom. Some carry secrets," reads the description of upcoming film Oh Butterfly, starring Nivedhithaa Sathish, Nassar and Lakshmipriyaa Chandramouli in key roles. The tagline sets the stage for the mystery thriller which reveals that Nivedhithaa's character takes her partner to a secluded house in the hills for a small getaway before sharing a life-changing secret. However, several mysterious events take place in the house. The butterfly metaphors are aplenty, and even Geetha Kailasam's character warns that her life is at risk.

Written and helmed by Vijay Ranganathan in his debut directorial, the film also stars Bigg Boss Tamil-fame Ciby Chandran and Attul in pivotal roles.

Sharing the teaser, the director said, "After years of agonising over the script, struggling to find co-believers, finding them finally, waging battles of all sizes to get it made, here’s a glimpse of the small-big idea that has been inspiring me and my team. Hugs to all my collaborators."

On the technical team, the film has music by Vaisakh Somanath, cinematography by Vedaraman Sankaran and editing by Bhuvanesh Manivannan. The film has been backed by Vennky, Anand S Shah, Vijay Ranganathan and Nisha Patial with Palampur Talkies serving as co-producer. Anthill Cinema is the banner backing the film.

A release date for Oh Butterfly is yet to be revealed.
