Gautham Vasudev Menon's Minnale to re-release on this date

Minnale, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, was first released in 2001, and featured Madhavan, Reema Sen, and Abbas in the lead

Gautham Vasudev Menon's debut directorial, Minnale, is all set to re-release in theatres on February 13, on the occasion of Valentine's Day. The romantic drama stars Madhavan, Reema Sen, and Abbas in the lead.

Minnale follows the story of of Rajesh (Madhavan), who tries to woo the woman he crushes on, Reena (Reema Sen), by impersonating her fiance, whom she has never met. Unbenowknst to Rajesh, the person he is pretending to be is his old rival from college. The film follows Rajesh as he has to cross hurdles to be united with Reena.

Minnale was also the debut film for music composer Harris Jayaraj. Songs like 'Vaseegara' and 'Poopol Poopol' becoming chartbusters.

The film was also remade into Hindi by Gautham Vasudev Menon himself. Titled Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, the film featured Saif Ali Khan and Dia Mirza, with Madhavan reprising his role from Minnale. Harris Jayaraj also composed music for Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.
