Kamal Haasan presents a documentary on Gandhi, Lead on Gandhi

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary, actor-parliamentarian Kamal Haasan has presented a seven-minute documentary on the Father of the Nation, titled Lead on Gandhi, along with Gandhi's grandson Gopalkrishna Gandhi.

The short documentary was about the message of Gandhi's assassination. With the glimpse beginning from the rise of oppressive regimes like that of Mussolini's and the two world wars, Gandhi is seen as a beacon of peace who was assassinated by Nathuram Godse. Footage from Kamal Haasan's Hey Ram was used in the short documentary.

In his address, Gopalkrishna Gandhi said that his grandfather was not killed by three bullets but that he stopped the three bullets. He pointed out that the bullets were the metaphor of hate, fear and untruth. He added that Gandhi had stopped those three bullets and urged him to join him in stopping these three bullets for posterity.

On the workfront, Kamal Haasan, last seen in Mani Ratnam's Thug Life, will next star in an actioner, marking the debut of stunt directors Anbariv. The project has been tentatively titled KH 237. As a producer, he is backing Rajinikanth's next with Cibi Chakravarthy, Thalaivar 173.
