Hi box office day 1: The romantic comedy Hi, which stars Nayanthara and Kavin in the lead, has opened its theatrical run with a strong performance on day one. The romantic comedy released in theatres on August 28.

According to box office tracker Sacnilk, Hi collected Rs 1.25 crores (nett) and Rs 1.44 crores (gross) on its opening day at the Indian box office. This comes amidst heavy competition from big budget releases like Toxic, and other Tamil films like Once More, Modha Rathiri, among others.

Lyricist Vishnu Edavan, who has worked as an assistant director under Lokesh Kanagaraj, makes his debut as a director with Hi. Nayanthara has produced the film along with Vignesh Shivan under their Rowdy Pictures banner. SS Lalit Kumar has also produced the film under his Seven Screen Studio banner.

The cast of Hi also includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, Prabhu, VTV Ganesh, Sathyan, Amrutha Srinivasan, Aadhithya Kadhir, Kureshi, FEFSI Vijayan, Renji Panicker, Kaviya Arivumani, and Mirchy Kemy, among others.

Jen Martin has composed music for Hi, continuing his collaboration with Kavin after Dada (2023) and Kiss (2025). The crew of Hi also includes director of photography Rajesh Shukla, editor Philomin Raj, art director Kannan S, and stunt choreographer Dinesh Kasi.

CE's review of the film reads, "The journey of Hi is made even more beautiful by the easy charm exuded by Nayanthara and Kavin, who ensure the romance doesn’t overshadow the comedy, and the comedy doesn’t overpower the romance."
