Makers of Suriya's recent film Vishwanath And Sons, which was released on August 14, announced that it has earned over Rs 200 crores worldwide. The film, starring Mamitha Baiju in the lead, also stars Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Sunil, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Bhavani Sre, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Sreeja Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik, and Master Charvik.
The film has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography handled by Nimish Ravi, and editing by Naveen Nooli.
Since its release, the film has been gaining positive word of mouth from the audiences. The film follows sportsperson-entrepreneur Sanjay Vishwanath (Suriya), who runs away from marriage due to an unhappy marriage between his parents. But decides to have a child through surrogacy as his mother (Radikaa) yearns for a grandchild. However, the happiness that the grandson brings is brought to a halt as he requires bone marrow surgery. With Sanjay not being a match, he goes in search of the kid's surrogate mother, Maddy (Mamitha). Sparks fly between Sanjay and Maddy; where will it take the two?
An excerpt from our CE review of the film reads, "When the conflict is established, and the stakes are raised to just the right level, why leave it all to go the Meiyazhagan or Kadaikutty Singam way? Yes, it is fun to see an unabashed Suriya, who does a super-convincing job of selling the lighthearted nature of the proceedings; the stature of his character gets in the way of the sudden change in pacing. As long as the film stays focused on the antics of Nirmala, Maddy, Sanjay, and the young baby at the centre of it all, Vishwanath & Sons is the thorough family entertainer that Indian cinema desperately needed."
