Jailer 2's 'Ala Bolelo': Who is Shamna Kkasim who dances alongside Rajinikanth in first single?

The makers of Jailer 2 dropped a short promo glimpse of the film's first single, 'Ala Bolelo ', on Wednesday

On Wednesday, two days before the scheduled drop of the first single from Jailer 2, the makers teased fans by unveiling a short promo while revealing the title and also giving us a glimpse of Rajinikanth's return as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian.

Last time, it was 'Kaavaalaa', featuring Tamannaah as the dancer alongside Sunil and Rajinikanth, among others. This time, the glimpse introduces us to the song 'Ala Bolelo' and also features Shamna Kkasim as the central dancer. But who is Shamna Kkasim, also known as Purnaa?

Born Shamna Kkasim, the actor was given the name Purnaa in the industry. A Malayali by descent, she started her career with Manju Poloru Penkutty in Malayalam in 2004. She made her Telugu debut with Sri Mahalakshmi in 2007 and her Tamil debut with Muniyandi Vilangial Moonramandu in 2008. Her Kannada debut came immediately after with Jhossh in 2009.

Some of the actor's popular works in Tamil include Drohi, Aadu Puli, Thagaraaru, and Savarakathi, among others. She played the role of VK Sasikala in Thalaivi, and was last seen in Devil in Tamil. She has also done three cameo song appearances before Jailer 2, including 'Kurchi Madathapetti' in Guntur Kaaram, a song in Rajadhi Raja and one in Sakalakala Vallavan.

Jailer 2, helmed by Nelson once again, has Anirudh Ravichander also returning for the sequel. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also stars Ramya Krishnan, SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborthy, Vidya Balan, Mirnaa, Yogi Babu, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Rithvik, and Anna Rajan, among others. The film will also feature cameo appearances from Vijay Sethupathi, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Jackie Shroff and Hrithik Roshan, among others.

With cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal, Jailer 2, backed by Sun Pictures, is gearing up to open in theatres on October 15. The first single is all set to be unveiled on August 21.
