James Vasanthan shares update on car case, reveals no political reasons involved

On April 26, James Vasanthan shared a video on social media of his car, which was found to be broken into after a stone was thrown on its window pane

James Vasanthan has taken to social media to provide an update on the case regarding the vandalising of his car. On April 26, the music composer shared a video on social media through which he revealed that his car's window pane in a damaged state.

The music composer captioned the video by pondering if it was the work of Tharuthalai's (wastrels) or Tharkuri's (loafers). The latter is an insulting term which has been used on social media to categorise supporters of a particular political organisation. The usage of that term, led to social media users speculating that the perpetrator had political motivation.

Thanthi TV has reported that through social media, James Vasanthan has revealed that the perpetrator is a lone person, with no political affliations. Further that particular individual has been warned by the police, and has since been let go.

James Vasanthan made his debut as a composer with Subramaniyapuram (2008). The film was written and directed by Sasikumar, in his debut, with a cast that featured himself in the lead role alongside Jai, Samuthirakani, Ganja Karuppu, Swathi, and others. The soundtrack for the film was well received and earned the composer several accolades.
