Singer Dhee's independent track 'Vari Vari' released on April 24, Friday, and it has already garnered 21,000 views on YouTube alone. It is her second independent song to release online in the space of a month. Releasing the song on YouTube, she described it saying, "'Vari Vari' is about someone or something that’s gone and isn’t around anymore, something that’s been lost. By the end, it feels like the whole song is this search for yourself that you might’ve lost along the way, like your inner child."
Since its release, Dhee has been getting much love and appreciation for the track. The latest to express his admiration for it is actor Suriya, who appeared on video with earlier this Sunday. The actor met the singer for the first time in Colombo, a trip that he has made after a gap of 24 years. "It's lovely to spend an evening like this with you. Thank you for taking time and coming and meeting me, and showing us the song," Suriya said in the video.
"It is a lovely song, the next indie from her. Big fan of her work always. I feel very happy to listen to such a song. I think it will be a timeless song, and everybody will love it," the actor added. Suriya also asked Dhee if he can use the song in one of his films, and she gracefully obliged. "I just love her voice and diction," Suriya said before choosing 'Kattu Payale' from Soorarai Pottru and 'Ey Sandakaara' from Irudhi Suttru as his favourite Dhee songs.
Composer and songwriter Santhosh Narayanan, who collaborated with Dhee on 'Vari Vari,' responded to Suriya's support for the song and the singer. "Eternally grateful for this and for the unforgettable moments we spent making music together," wrote Santhosh.
