Tamil Nadu Elections 2026: Actor Sivakumar expressed his opinions on the sale of alcohol in Tamil Nadu in an interaction with the media, after he cast his vote for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.

"My request for whichever party that comes to power, is to close TASMAC shops, immediately," saidd Sivakumar, who added, "It is time to stop kudimakkal (citizens) into kudikara makkal (drunkards). Instead of earning crores and crores along with their family, people in power should better the lives of the citizens."

The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), is a government run institution, that overlooks the sale of alcohol in the state.

Voters across Tamil Nadu can vote from 7:00 am to 06:00 pm at their local polling stations, today (April 23). On May 4, the votes will be counted and results will be announced.
