Tamil Nadu Elections 2026: Prabhu is no stranger to seeing the crossover between cinema and politics. The actor, who is Sivaji Ganesan's son, has seen his father dip his toes into the political arena.

As he registered his vote for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, today (April 23), he addressed questions about the crossover between cinema and politics in the state. "As far as Tamil Nadu is concerned from those days, from Mr MGR (actor and former TN Chief Minister MG Ramachandran), from Mr Kalaignar (writer and former TN Chief Minister M Karunanidhi), from Mr Sivaji (Ganesan), my father—all of them have been in (politics). So it's a part and parcel of Tamil Nadu."

"Putting a vote is every Indian citizen's right. So, please don't miss voting," said Prabhu, who added, "Whatever (or) whomever you want to vote for, (it's important) to come and vote. That's the service you are doing for the country and for the state."

When asked about actor-politician Vijay, Prabhu responded by saying, "I can't talk about that now. It's not right of me to talk about that."

Voters across Tamil Nadu can vote from 7:00 am to 06:00 pm at their local polling stations, today (April 23). On May 4, the votes will be counted and results will be announced.
