Actor Mamitha Baiju, who will next be seen starring alongside Dhanush in Kara, shared that her co-star was very inspiring and she got a lot to learn from him.

In a pre-release interview with Sudhir Srinivasan, Mamitha said that Dhanush's hard work is so inspiring. "After a day's long work, we would usually complain that we are tired. Seeing Dhanush sir's energy and dedication, I have learned not to say it. While performing alongside, I would think if this is the scene and this is the emotion, the performance would be on a particular metre. But Dhanush sir surprises whenever he performs. I begin wondering, 'Oh, there is another way to perform this scene that I didn't think of.' Starring alongside him in Kara was a huge learning curve."

Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja of Por Thozhil fame, also stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunaas, KS Ravikumar, Jayaram, Prithvi Pandiarajan, MS Bhaskar, and Sreeja Ravi, among others.

GV Prakash Kumar is composing music for Kara, continuing his collaboration with Dhanush after Idli Kadai (2025). Yuga Bharathi and Asal Kolaar have written the lyrics. The film’s crew also includes Theni Eswar as the director of photography, Sreejith Sarang as the editor, Mayapandi as the art director, and Dinesh Kasi as the action director.

Kara is written by director Vignesh along with Alfred Prakash. Ishari K Ganesh is producing the film under his Vels Film International banner, along with Kushmitha Ganesh as the co-producer. Kara is releasing worldwide on April 30.
