Music composer Sai Abhyankkar, who became a sensation with albums like 'Aasa Kooda' and 'Katchi Sera,' made his feature debut with Keerthiswaran's Dude, starring Pradeep Ranganathan.
Ahead of a big release, Suriya starrer Karuppu, he said to Anupama Chopra in The Hollywood Reporter India interview that he was blown away by the response to 'Oorum Blood' after the mixed reception at the beginning. "The song received mixed opinions for the first two days, and from the third day, it went viral. I was blown away by the fact that people required two days to get used to the song," he said, adding he is still not aware of the formula of a hit song. "Nallaru Po too picked up slow, but Singari and Raathu Raasan (Karuppu) were instant hits."
Sai made his feature debut with Balti (Malayalam). After delivering a hit with his Tamil debut, Dude, he awaits the releases, all of which are big-ticket films, of Karuppu, Benz, Marshal, Raaka, and D55.
Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, also stars him, Trisha, Indrans, Natty, and Yogi Babu. The rest of the film's technical crew consists of cinematographer GK Vishnu, Kiran Kaushik, and editor R Kalaivanan. Karuppu is releasing in theatres on May 14.
