After tasting success with independent tracks and the film Dude, Sai Abhyankkar is now gearing up for his next release. He serves as the composer for the highly anticipated film Karuppu, starring Suriya and directed by RJ Balaji, who also plays a cameo in it. The recently released song, 'Raathu Raasan' is going viral on social media platforms as Karuppu is all set for its theatrical release in May. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Sai Abhyankkar was asked about the criticism for the ‘Oorum Blood’ song in Dude.
He said, “It is believed that if a conversation is created, the outcome would be positive. When 'Oorum Blood' was released, mixed opinions were there from the audience for the first two days; however, by the third day, the track was being made viral by them. I was surprised that only two days were needed for listeners to get used to the song."
The composer added, "So during Dude movie's production, new ideas were discussed between director Keerthiswaran and I for the film, and we agreed on going away from the 'usual way'. I am glad that he supported that vision. Once it happened, there was a conversation about the song. People who liked it and even those with mixed opinions about it started listening to it more and more, which built a conversation around the song that helped make it viral.”
Sai Abhyankkar also clarified the rumour about him being launched as a hero by AGS Entertainment. He said that it's just a speculation that came about after he signed a contract with the studio for one of its upcoming projects' music.
The Suriya-starrer Karuppu is set for its theatrical release on May 14, Thursday. The film also stars Trisha, Swasika, Natty, Sshivadha, Indrans, Mansoor Ali Khan, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi, among others.
