It was announced that stand-up comedian and creator Vikram, famously known as Vikkals Vikram, is going to make his debut as a lead in an upcoming Tamil film. Titled Lightweight Baby, the film is helmed by KC Guru, who also wrote the film's script. Vikram is also penning the dialogues of the film.

Billing the film as a rom-com sports drama, the makers describe the film as "Two worlds. One fire." The title look suggests that the male and female leads belong to very different worlds with just one thing in common, a mic. Nothing more than that is known yet.

Starring alongside Vikram is Arthy Krishna, who is also making her debut. Produced by Sagara Sandesh and Timma Reddy G of Hitha Studios, the film's technical crew comprises cinematographer Pramod Kotiyan and music composer Saravanan Subramaniam. Update on the rest of the technical crew and cast is expected to be made soon.

Recently, Vikram ended up as the second runner-up in the ninth season of Bigg Boss Tamil. Having starred in series like Vera Maari Office, Vera Maari Love Story, and Tandoori Idly. He was also a part of the 2023 film Let's Get Married, led by Harish Kalyan.
