Sathyaraj's first look from Prashanth's Ranjan unveiled

Ranjan is the Tamil remake of the critically acclaimed 2025 Telugu film Court - State Vs. A Nobody

We had previously reported about actor Prashanth headlining the upcoming courtroom drama Ranjan – The Advocate, directed by his father and veteran director Thiagarajan. The makers have now announced that Sathyaraj has onboarded the cast.

For the unversed, the upcoming film is the Tamil remake of the critically acclaimed 2025 Telugu film Court - State Vs. A Nobody, directed by Ram Jagadeesh and headlined by Priyadarshi Pulikonda.

Sathyaraj is all set to play a judge in the film. A character poster was also released by the makers. He joins previously announced cast members Priyanka Rajakumaran, actor Devayani's daughter, and Hari, son of producer S Kadiresan (Five Star Creations banner) who are set to debut as leads.

RK Suresh, Mime Gopi, director Subramaniam Shiva, Priyanka, Athira, Mohan Raman, Hari Kathiresan and Santhosh Prabhakar are also playing pivotal roles.

As reported earlier, the upcoming film reunites Thiagarajan and Prashanth after the 2024 crime thriller Andhangan, continuing their collaboration which started with Aanazhagan (1995).

On the technical team, GV Prakash Kumar is scoring the music for Ranjan. It will be backed by Shanthi Thiagarajan. Cinematographer Ravi Yadav and art director Senthil Raghavan are also part of the crew. Shooting for the film is currently in progress.
