Recently, we reported about actor-politician Vijay speaking about being blamed unnecessarily for the Karur Stampede and his film Jana Nayagan's release being halted for a political agenda. He reiterated these points at an election rally in Tirunelveli earlier this Wednesday.
The actor-politician said that he has the support of millions of people despite concerted efforts to tarnish his reputation. Speaking rhetorically, the actor said, "The whole place knows about the Karur issue, but why not blame Vijay for it. Why, despite placing such a big blame on Vijay, people are standing in support of him? It is amazing!"
He also said that everyone knows who is stopping Jana Nayagan's release. "They thought I would be disturbed if the film's release is stopped. Despite it being stopped, he is going about his duties without minding it," the actor said in first person.
He also said that SOP restrictions have been placed against his campaign rallies, because none of the above tactics worked against him. The government placed the restrictions following the stampede that contributed to mass casualties in the actor-politician's rally in Karur.
"There are rules and regulations and conditions only in place for Vijay. Leave the other parties aside, keep the rules in place only for him. He should not come out and meet people," the actor said with a rhetorical tone and in first person about the said restrictions. He suggested that this tactic has also not worked against him.
The actor added that a rumour has been spread about those close to him to tarnish his reputation just a month before the elections. "People have been waiting all these years to do this," said the actor all charged up. While the actor did not mention the specifics of the speculation, he seems to be alluding to the negative discourse around his relationship with wife Sankgeetha.
