Legend Saravanan's latest action drama Leader, directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar, has witnessed an increase in collections, and its biggest spike so far earning Rs 1.22 crore on Sunday. This has taken the collections of the film to over Rs 3 crore following its first weekend in theatres. Upon release on April 3, the film was met with favourable reviews which boosted its revenue significantly over the next two days. According to the box office tracker Sacnilk, the film reported an opening day collection of Rs 77 lakh which jumped to Rs 1.08 crore on the second day. Similarly, the third day, the film's occupancy increased again to register over Rs 1.22 crore.

If the trend continues, Leader is expected cross the Rs 10 crore mark soon. The film has already emerged as the frontrunner in box office collections in comparison to the other Tamil films released on the same day - Kaalidas 2, Neelira and Carmeni Selvam.

An excerpt from our CE review of the film reads, "Durai Senthilkumar largely keeps Saravanan reined in as Sakthivel. Even when the screenplay leaves room for a random love song, it is used as a montage number to further the narrative. Even when the screenplay leaves room for multiple action blocks, Sakthivel prefers to exercise his brain rather than his brawn. Even when the screenplay leaves room for an emotional outburst, the film tamps it down with a smart scene."

Leader revolves around an innocent father and his daughter whose lives are upended after a powerful gangster enters their lives.

The cast for the film includes Sham, Andrea, Santhosh Prathap, Payal Rajput, Lal, Prabaharan, Amirtha Aiyer, VTV Ganesh, Iyal, Aishwarya, Mariam George, Nisha, Adithya Kathir.

Ghibran has composed music for the film, with lyrics written by Kabilan, Viveka, Mohan Rajan. The rest of the crew includes Venkatesh S as the director of photography, Pradeep E Ragav as the editor, G Durairaj as the art director, and Mahesh Mathew as the stunt co-ordinator.
