With Neelira, Karthik Subbaraj's latest production with Rana Daggubati, starring Naveen Chandra in the lead role, releasing on Friday, Suriya has praised the emotional drama.

"The film talks about one long night. We have been witnessing the recent wars that are disrupting our daily lives. Those whose lives are upended the most are the ones who are underprivileged," he said, reflecting on the film's relevant themes, in a video he shared after watching it.

"The person who has endured the long night (Neelira) - Somatheeran, who is of Sri Lankan Tamil descent, has directed this. This film will stand as a silent witness to the the war that the country had faced in the past, and what the world is facing today. This believe that this anti-war film will be with us long after the credits roll. I really liked it and I hope you will like it too," he added.
