We had previously reported about actor Kayal Chandran coming back to theatres after a long gap with a new film titled Singha, directed by debutant Raja Durai Singam. The makers have now shared the first single from the movie. Titled 'Kaathukulla Kuruvi', the number has been sung by Anthony Daasan with lyrics written by Mani Amuthavan.

The song is described as a "lively party number set in an open bar, capturing the fun and playful moments between the hero and his friends, along with humorous conflicts between a husband and wife caused by their pet dog."

In an earlier interview with Cinema Express, Chandran revealed that the pet dog would be the protagonist in the film. "There are occasions when directors falsify the prominence of our character. But Raja, before even exchanging pleasantries, said that the dog is the hero of my film and the story will revolve around it. The story then was equally impressive. I immediately said yes to it," he said.

Singha isn't just about a dog, but also a baby. "In the whole 9-5 schedule, you may get them to focus for a maximum of an hour. The dogs are prone to mood swings. So it was a strenuous task to complete the shoot during the given period of time and also derive satisfactory performances from the kid and the dog," he added, sharing his experience working on the set.

Raja Durai Singam comes from the school of directors Vasanth and Sarkunam. The upcoming film marks Chandran's comeback to the big screens, three years after Manmadha Leelai (2022).

Starring alongside Chandran are Sija Rose, Meenakshi, Adhithya Kathir, and Aristo Suresh.

On the technical team, the feel-good film has music by Manoj Chinnaswamy, cinematography by Ashok Kumar Raj, editing by AR Sivaraj Rajamani and art direction by Kalai Muthamizhan.
