Reports suggest that Suriya will be establishing a new production house, bearing the name Zhagaram. Suriya has already been producing films under his 2D Entertainments banner, along with his wife Jyothika.
Suriya's upcoming film, which is directed by Jithu Madhavan, is supposedly the first film to be backed by the new production house. Jithu Madhavan is known for his work on the horror comedy Romancham and the Fahadh Faasil starrer Aavesham, which was well received by the audiences.
Recently, it was announced that the directorial debut of Diya Suriya, the daughter of Suriya and Jyothika, opened at the Regency Theatre, Los Angeles, California. The docu-drama, which is titled Leading Light, features interviews of female gaffers of Bollywood, will have its Oscar qualifying run at that theatre. The docu short has been produced by Suriya and Jyothika under the 2D Entertainments banner.
Reports also suggest that the new banner will be backing a film from Pa Ranjith, which will supposedly start shooting next year.
