Idli Kadai kicks off the month of October, which is full of festive cinematic releases, with this film being the first of them. October 1 is the day that Idli Kadai releases, and people in Tamil Nadu celebrates Ayudha Poojai, and across India preparations for Dusshera begins.

According to box office tracker Sacnilk, the film which is written, directed, produced, and headlined by Dhanush, is projected to collect close to Rs 1.67 crores at the Indian box office. The box office tracker has also revealed that the film has sold more than 1 lakh tickets.

The cast for the film includes Shalini Pandey, Nithya Menen, Samuthirakani, Raj Kiran, Sathyaraj, Parthiban, and Arun Vijay, amongst others.

GV Prakash Kumar is composing music for the film, continuing his collaboration with Dhanush after Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. The rest of the technical crew of the film includes Kiran Koushik as the director of photography, Prasanna GK as the editor, Jacki as the art director, and Peter Hein as the stunt choreographer.

Dhanush produces the film under his Wunderbar Films banner, along with Aakash Baskaran, who is producing under his Dawn Pictures banner. Inban Udhayanidhi, son of Tamil Nadu's Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, will get his first film credit as a presenter for Idli Kadai.
