Actor and racing driver Ajith Kumar is participating in the Crevantic race of the Michelin 24h Barcelona 2025. This is the latest in the series of races for the actor who is participating in the endurance racing format of motorsports.

Ajith was speaking Akshita Nandagopal of India Today, when the anchor asked him about the rise in popularity of motorsports due to his involvement. "I am definitely grateful to my fans for taking the effort to come to races anywhere in the world. In fact from the next series I want to promote Indian cinema. So I am having a logo in the car which says, 'Indian Cinema - The Largest Producer of films in the World', in over 20 Indian languages. So entertainment and sports, go hand in hand. Look at what happened during COVID. Entertainment and sports kept people sane. So I consider myself blessed to be part of the Indian Film Industry, the Tamil Film Industry. 33 years in the film business, I am able to do all of this because of the love and goodwill from people, fans, and media. Likewise, in the last eight months I have been racing, a lot of people from other drivers to people of other teams, have come up to me wanting to know more about Indian cinema."

When the interviewer asks Ajith, how he felt seeing the Indian Tricolour next to the name Ajith Kumar Racing Company, which the interviewer mentions as something never seen before, he replies, "To be honest I am trying to pursue something very dearly. So I wouldn't want to sound pompous, by saying that I am doing something for this sport. I am doing something that I very dearly love, and in the process if it reaches out to people and people start following the sport, it is good for the sport." He added, " Since you mentioned the Tricolour, Narain Karthikeyan, Karun Chandok, Jahan Darwalla, Kush Maini, all have raised the Indian flag on podiums across different series. So, I am not the first, but it is a proud moment to see the Indian Tricolour, on the pits or on the podium, it is a wonderful feeling.

It is worth noting that one of Ajith's co-stars in the 2014 film Veeram, was Suhail Chandok, Karun's brother. Suhail played the role of Ajith's younger brother alongside Vidarth, Bala Kumar, and Munish. Suhail is currently a sports presenter.
