Earlier today, API Tamil Songs dropped a music video for 'Pora Pokula,' an independent love song crooned by Ilaiyaraaja based on a composition by his grandson, Yatheeshwar Raja. The video of the song, featuring Vishnu Edavan's lyrics, stars Rithish and Monisha Mohan. Karthikeyan BK directed the video, which has Pramesh Dev serving as its choreographer. Recently, the legendary composer shared a video of the recording session featuring him behind the microphone and his grandson giving him instructions on how he wants the song to be.

Besides singing for many of his compositions, Ilaiyaraaja has also lend his voice to other music directors' works. Recently, he completed 50 years of his musical journey, which the Tamil Nadu Government celebrated with a special event in Chennai. The celebrations came a few months after his first Western classical symphony concert in London.

On the other hand, Yatheeshwar made his debut as a composer with a devotional song earlier this year. At the time, he said that his father Karthik Raja aided him in writing the lyrics for the song devoted to Annamalaiyar. He also expressed his interest in following in on his legendary grandfather's footsteps by foraying into film music.
