The Tamil Nadu state government has announced the list of Kalaimamani Award winners for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023, along with the awardees for the Bharathiyar, MS Subbalakshmi, and Balasaraswathi awards. The awards will be distributed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin at the official award ceremony, which is set to take place at Kalaivanar Arangam next month.
The MS Subbalakshmi award is presented to an artist from the music field. This year, the recipient of the award is seasoned singer and Padma Bhushan awardee, Dr KJ Yesudas.
For the year 2021, from the acting front, actor-director SJ Suryah, actor Sai Pallavi, director Lingusamy, and stunt co-ordinator Super Subbarayan are among those who are set to receive the Kalaimamani award.
The awardees for the year 2022 are actor Vikram Prabhu, yesteryear actor Jaya VC Guhanathan, lyricist Vivek, PRO Diamond Babu and still photographer T Lakshmikanthan.
Further, members of the film fraternity who have bagged the award for the year 2023 are actor K Manikandan, actor George Mariyan, music composer Anirudh, singer Swetha Mohan, dance choreographer Sandy, and PRO Nikil Murugan.
Artists who receive the Kalaimamani Award will be presented with a 3-sovereign gold medal and an award certificate. The All India Award is presented to the winning artists with a gold medal of 3 rupees, along with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
