Shakthi Thirumagan, which stars Vijay Antony in the lead, continues to steam ahead at the box office surpassing its Tamil competitors. The film, which is directed by Arun Prabhu Purushothaman, was released on September 19.

The film collected Rs 90 lakhs on the day of its release and went on to see a rise in collections at the end day of it second day. At the end of its second day, the film netted Rs 1.3 crores. The collections went up again, as at the end of Day 3, the film collected Rs 1.59 crores, as a result of which the film's total collection at the end of Day 3 was, Rs 3.79 crores.

Apart from Vijay Antony the film also starred Sunil Kripalani, Cell Murugan, and Tripthi Ravindra. Arun Prabhu also bought back his regulars Shelley Calist and Raymond Derrick Crasta, for cinematograhy and editing, respectively, after Aruvi and Vaazhl. Dinsa also served as an editor for the film.

Along with Shakthi Thirumagan, Athiyan Athirai's Thandakaaranyam and Satish Krishnan's Kiss was also released simultaneously. The former is a drama with Dinesh and Kalaiyarasan in the lead, while the latter is romantic comedy with Kavin and Preethi Asrani in the lead.
