The makers of Bison recently dropped the second single from the film 'Rekka Rekka', a rap number featuring vocals by Arivu and Vedan, lyrics by Mari himself and Arivu, and composition by Nivas K Prasanna. A rap number with elements of electronic and folk music, the song has already grossed around 4 million views on YouTube. According to the makers, the energetic song represents the film's lead actor Dhruv Vikram's transformation. In fact, it took such a long time for Dhruv to be in shape for the film, where he plays a kabbadi player, that its producer Aditi Anand had second thoughts about whether it would enter production at all.

"When I first met Dhruv, he was still lean and boyish, and we thought we'd be shooting Bison right after Mari sir's debut. But then came Karnan, Maamannan, Vaazhai—three entire films before ours. Each time one wrapped, we'd say, 'Now it's Bison's turn.' And every time, Mari sir would say no—Dhruv wasn't ready until he could stop pretending to play kabaddi and actually become a kabaddi player."

Aditi revealed that "it was frustrating" to have the long wait. "I'd watch Dhruv training, drilling endlessly, and wonder if we'd ever get to the floor. But when you see 'Rekka Rekka' on screen, all of that effort is right there: the grit, the sweat, the transformation. In hindsight, every bit of that long wait feels justified."

Aditi also discussed what it is like to have Arivu sing the Bison song, saying it provided her with "cheap thrills as a producer". The producer added that the song has the "fire" of the rapper that she once experienced first hand.

The film also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Pasupathy, Lal, Rajisha Vijayan, and Azhagam Perumal, among others. It is slated for an October 17 release.
